Role
As a pivotal member of our leadership team, the VP of Engineering will oversee the expansion of our engineering capabilities and modular EV manufacturing processes at Newlab, Brooklyn Navy Yard, New York.
Job Requirements
- Experience: Minimum of 8 years in electric vehicle/automotive manufacturing, with substantial experience in engineering leadership roles.
- Management Skills: Proven track record in managing EV or smartphone production, assembly, factory operations, and supply-chain logistics.
- Technical Expertise: Comprehensive knowledge of manufacturing processes, especially within the automotive sector. A strong grasp of modular production systems is highly desirable.
- Design Sensibility: An appreciation for exceptional design and the ability to integrate aesthetic principles with engineering solutions.
- Leadership: Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, capable of leading cross-functional teams and fostering a collaborative work environment.
- Financial Acumen: Skilled in financial management, budgeting, and cost optimization.
- Strategic Thinking: Strategic vision with the ability to set and achieve ambitious production goals.
- Adaptability: Resilience and flexibility to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic startup environment.
- Education: Degree from a prestigious university is preferred.
